Filter Wire Mesh
Polyester, Nylon, and stainless steel screening materials are frequently used on aquaculture farms, hatcheries and in research laboratory settings. They are used for filtration or size sorting where precise hole size is critical. For other applications where precision is less important, please contact us about knotted nylon netting, bird netting, or molded plastic screen mesh.
Polyester is generally preferred in applications where regular cleaning of fouling organisms and other debris is required. It holds up better to scrubbing and mild chemical cleaning better than the other materials. Polyester also outperforms other materials in prolonged wet or sunny applications.
Nylon absorbs water over time, making it more susceptible to decay. It is often used in the fabrication of plankton nets or larval laboratory applications where it can dry out between uses. Nylon also serves better for certain chemical filtration uses outside of aquaculture, especially in the oil and gas industries.
We carry nylon mesh, polyester mesh, and polypropylene mesh in a wide variety of opening sizes. Search for the hole size and the percent of openness required. Then just let us know how much you need! The screens shown below represent our most common size requests. But other micron sizes may be available, even though they are not listed. The standard width is 40 inches, but many of the micron sizes are available in widths up to 100 inches
